New Kellogg EMBA With Peking University

KelloggThe Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, one of the top academic institutions in China, and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University today (Feb. 17) a new two-year joint degree program called the Guanghua-Kellogg Executive MBA Program.

It will be the fifth EMBA program Kellogg has with an international partner, including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong), Tel Aviv University (Israel), WHU (Germany), and York University (Canada). Many of these programs are highly ranked by The Financial Times, which annually ranks joint global Executive MBA degrees. Kellogg’s UST program is currently ranked first in the world by the FT, while it’s EMBA with WHU in Germany is ranked 18th. No other business school in the world has as many successful EMBA partnerships as Kellogg, which also has EMBA programs in Chicago and Miami.

The Chinese market for executive programs, moreover, is one of the most attractive in the world, a reason why many schools have set up joint programs with universities in the country. INSEAD has an EMBA with Tsinghua University, while Washington University’s Olin School has a long-standing partner in Fudan University School of Management, among many others.

Based in Beijing, the new program will enroll its first class in the fall of 2014. The schools said it “will bring together the best of Guanghua with the best of Kellogg, educating executives on the nuances of the Chinese business environment and equipping them with the tools to excel as global business leaders.”

“This partnership is the culmination of a longstanding collaboration between Guanghua and Kellogg,” said Guanghua Dean Hongbin Cai in a statement. “The Guanghua-Kellogg EMBA joint degree stands for an education that is prestigious, relevant, and fundamentally international. Our new program pays tribute to Guanghua’s mission of developing truly global modern business leaders.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Guanghua School of Management to provide executive-level management education in China,” said Kellogg Dean Sally Blount in a statement. “Through our unique global EMBA network, which will now include Guanghua, we offer students a distinctive learning experience, preparing them to lead in the complex global economy.”

Applications for the 22-month Guanghua-Kellogg program are being accepted now; the first cohort will start in September 2014. The schools said that the new program is ideal for executives with eight to ten years of work experience who are seeking an elite global management education, including Chinese nationals and international executives either living and working in China or looking to better understand how to do business in China.
