ISABELLE HUAULT REAPPOINTED AS DEAN OF EMLYON BUSINESS SCHOOL

Isabelle Huault has been reappointed as Executive President and Dean of emlyon business school for a second five-year term.

During her first term, Huault advanced emlyon’s academic standing, expanded its hybrid pedagogy in France and abroad, and strengthened its environmental and social commitments. The school also improved its performance in international rankings and deepened connections with businesses and alumni. Emlyon is currently ranked the 11th best business school in Europe.

Supervisory Board Chair Guillaume Pepy says Huault is well positioned to lead the school through its next phase, citing student experience, technological integration, and global expansion as top priorities. Backed by its shareholders, emlyon is now entering a new stage of growth under a coherent and sustainable strategy.

“I have great ambitions for the School, matching its potential, to position it as an essential actor of French soft power,” Huault says.

UC RIVERSIDE JOINS GLOBAL GRADUATE MANAGEMENT COUNCIL

UC Riverside’s School of Business has joined the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), a global nonprofit that represents leading graduate business schools. The announcement signals growing international recognition for the school and its A. Gary Anderson School of Management.

GMAC membership connects UCR to a global network of peer institutions and gives it access to research, student recruitment tools, and policy insights that shape graduate business education. UCR is now the 228th member of the organization, best known for administering the GMAT exam.

Dean Yunzeng Wang called the membership “an extraordinary honor” that underscores UCR’s commitment to innovation and academic excellence. GMAC CEO Joy Jones said the school’s perspectives will help GMAC navigate rapid changes in the field, from talent mobility to technology shifts.

The membership follows a period of growth at UCR. In September 2024, the school opened a new $87 million facility designed to promote collaboration across business education and industry.

London Business School Dean Sergei Guriev

LBS DEAN SERGEI GURIEV JOINS GROUP OF THIRTY

London Business School Dean Sergei Guriev has joined the Group of Thirty (G30), an international body of senior economic and financial leaders. The organization, founded in 1978, brings together top thinkers from public and private sectors as well as academia to deepen understanding of global financial challenges. Members join in their personal capacity and contribute to policy debates and research.

Guriev’s experience spans corporate governance, contract theory, labor mobility, and political economics. Before joining LBS, he served as Chief Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and as Provost at Sciences Po in Paris. He also led the New Economic School in Moscow and served on Russian government reform councils.

Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Chair of the G30 Board of Trustees, says Guriev brings “an outstanding record in academia, unique insights on economies at various stages of advancement, and political economy. He will be a valuable addition to our debates.”

IMD President David Bach

IMD PRESIDENT DAVID BACH JOINS GMAC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

IMD President David Bach has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). His appointment reflects GMAC’s continued focus on global leadership and innovation in graduate management education.

Bach, who also serves as Nestlé Professor of Strategy and Political Economy, joins the board during a time of strategic transformation. He emphasized the importance of expanding access to top business programs, saying, “At this moment of profound global change and uncertainty, strengthening graduate management education has never been more critical.”

Bach joins other new board members including Jake Cohen of MIT Sloan and Ian Fenwick of Sasin School of Management in Thailand. The board is chaired by Catherine Duggan, Director of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.
