Two leading business schools – one in the U.S., one in Europe – are teaming up to provide a pathway for talented executives with eyes on the C-suite.

The C-Suite Pathway Program, a five-month immersive program preparing senior executives to excel at the highest levels of their organizations, will be offered jointly by IESE Business School and NYU Stern Executive Education. The first program will begin in December 2023 at a cost of $35,000.

Content will be delivered in three-on campus modules – alternating between NYU Stern and IESE’s New York campus – and two online modules. The goal is to fast-track executives’ move to the C-suite with lessons on leadership, business acumen, and navigating increasingly complex environments.

“Regardless of whether someone is Chief Financial Officer, leading a company’s sustainability efforts, or managing people, transitioning to the C-suite involves adding a significant amount of complexity to already demanding roles,” says IESE Business School´s Professor Mike Rosenberg, Academic Director of the program.

PERSONALIZED LEADERSHIP JOURNEY

A unique aspect of this exec ed program is the one-to-one executive coaching participants receive. This is delivered during two online modules that combine live sessions with self-paced study.

The three other modules – four days each in December, February and May –, will be delivered on the NYU and IESE campuses in New York City. These include Developing a Big-Picture View, Bolstering Your Strategic Thinking, and Leading and Executing Strategy.

The transition to the C-suite necessitates “keeping multiple time frames and levels of analysis in mind while accepting an enormous amount of responsibility,” says academic co-director Sonia Marciano from NYU Stern. “ The C-suite Pathway Program will enable and empower participants to be ready for this change.”

TWO LEADERS IN EXEC ED

C-suite Pathway will be taught by the faculty of two powerhouses in executive education.

IESE Business School ranked first in the world in the Financial Times’ 2023 ranking of open exec ed programs. It was fourth in customized programs in the ranking which is dominated by European schools. IESE has campuses in Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, New York City, and São Paulo, with programs offered throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

NYU Stern ranked sixth in U.S. News and World Report’s 2023-2024 ranking of Executive MBA programs, and fourth on Poets&Quants’ composite ranking of the top EMBA programs in the U.S.

The program is targeting accomplished senior executives who aspire to top-tier leadership positions along with newly appointed C-suite members and leaders tapped for future promotion. Students will explore topics covering the essentials of leadership and management, while learning about international business, emerging trends, disruptive forces, and leadership challenges.
