AVIVA FUNDS FREE IFA TRAINING ON SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENTS AT KING’S COLLEGE
King’s Business School of King’s College London is offering a free exec ed program for independent financial advisors on sustainable investments. The program is funded by Aviva Investors, an asset management company in the UK, Ireland, and Canada.
Sustainability is increasingly prioritized in financial planning, and advisors must be able to provide clients with informed advice aligning with both their financial and non-financial goals.
In July 2023, UK’s Financial Conduct Authority introduced a new Consumer Duty which includes revised advice standards required by financial advisors. By 2026, advisors will be required to consider clients’ non-financial objectives, such as sustainability, in their financial planning recommendations. The new standards aim to enhance the integrity of financial advice and prevent greenwashing—a practice where investments are falsely marketed as environmentally friendly.
The online, 13-hour program will be delivered online in a self-paced format. It will launch on September 30. Applications are open through September 16.
Participants will learn to assess and integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into their investment strategies through case studies and expert-led discussions.
This new program represents a significant step forward in advancing sustainable finance education at King’s Business School.
