Building on a foundation of courses covering all major areas of business, the Fisher EMBA program integrates the fundamentals of business into a succession of courses that are issue-oriented and customized around the interests of students in the class.

The Fisher core courses are designed to help students develop managerial thinking skills. Core courses include strategy formulation and implementation, managerial economics, and marketing management.
Over the course of the program, students gain a comprehensive business perspective, learn to think broadly and strategically, work on projects that directly relate to current business problems, participate in a global integration course with a required international experience, and prepare a business plan to hone entrepreneurial skills.

The program kicks off in early December with a week-long residency and then generally meets three days a month.

The Fisher EMBA program has a unique twist: the class as a whole chooses their electives through a democratic process.

Rankings Analysis: Ohio State’s Executive MBA maintained its rank of 21st in PoetsandQuants’ 2012 analysis of the world’s best programs. The school did slightly better in the BusinessWeek survey of 2011 that ranks schools on the basis of graduate satisfaction and a reputation poll of EMBA program directors. Fisher’s EMBA program rose to a rank of 14th on the BW list, up from 15th in 2009. But the school slipped six places to 80th in The Financial Times’ 2011 ranking from 74th in 2010.

A member of the Class of 2011 told BusinessWeek, “The professors and staff at the Fisher College of Business were extremely supportive of the students and their learning experience.
