Designed for senior and mid-career executives, the Kellogg Executive MBA program emphasizes teamwork and cross-cultural collaboration, leadership, and adaptability. To accommodate the varied schedules of its students, Kellogg offers four Executive MBA program schedules each year from two locations, Evanston and Miami.

In both the Evanston program and the Miami program, core and advanced courses help students to grasp the tools of general management, providing techniques for solving managerial problems. At the same time, the curriculum allows students to pursue special areas of interest by choosing elective courses at one of the Kellogg School’s Global Partner Institutions. Kellogg offers EMBA candidates the chance to take  four electives.

Evanston-based students have all core classes on the Northwestern’s main campus. The Miami-based students have most core classes on the Miami campus and travel to Evanston in January of their second year for an International live-in week and to begin their winter quarter studies. Like all the top EMBA programs, this is a tough sled. Students spend an average of 25 to 30 hours of work outside of class weekends studying.

It’s also worth noting that Kellogg rules the roost when it comes to joint EMBA programs with other non-U.S. schools. Three of the top five partnership EMBAs in the world have Kellogg’s name on them, including No. 1 Kellogg-Hong Kong UST.

Latest Up-to-Date Executive MBA Rankings:

2014 Poets&Quants: 3

2013 The Economist: 8

2014 U.S. News & World Report: 3

2013 BusinessWeek: 1

2013 Financial Times: 24

Rankings Analysis: The Kellogg School managed to hold onto its rank of third place among the world’s best EMBA programs in the latest PoetsandQuants survey for 2014. Regaining its No. 1 spot in Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s 2013 ranking didn’t make all that much of a difference in our composite ranking, probably because Kellogg’s EMBA program lost ground in The Financial Times’ 2013 survey, slipping to 24th from 17th.

Not to worry. The FT survey is so biased against U.S. schools because of its methodology that no one should take it very seriously. You would be hard pressed to find a better Executive MBA program anywhere. Along with Chicago and Wharton, Kellogg is at the very top of the world best.
