School Data

Boston University’s Questrom School of Business boasts the highest ranked Executive MBA program in both Boston and New England. It’s also one of the smallest and most intimate of the quality experiences for executives. The latest cohort is an impressive group of mid-to-senior managers with 10+ years of professional experience. Some 27% already have advanced degrees, and currently enrolled students have an average of 15 years of professional experience with nine years of managerial experience.

The program focuses on management as a system, a cross-functional understanding of the interdependencies among organizations’ components. It also offers a global component through a concentrated international module and trip designed to provide an understanding of the factors that frame the business context in developed and developing economies.

The program begins in January and concludes in late June of the following year, and encompasses four integrated components: five modules occurring on Fridays and Saturdays every other week for 18 months; case discussions, a team-based assignment in each module; four week-long residential sessions including one international session; and a capstone project involving the creation of an integrated business plan during the final module.

Why Choose BU EMBA?
The Boston University Questrom Executive MBA is designed for mid-career executives who are eager to take on their next challenge. The BU Questrom EMBA offers the opportunity to learn from top faculty who deliver a rigorous, integrated curriculum—one that immerses you in complex business problems instead of discrete disciplines. You’ll learn the way you work: by solving challenges that demand executive expertise and insight. Our curriculum is carefully designed to offer a combination of analysis and decision-making. You’ll learn how to diagnose and frame issues, locate the right tools and concepts to address them, and then act to resolve.
The EMBA class is a true community: tightly bonded, impressively open, and dedicated to each other’s success. The program emphasizes personal development, leadership skills, and most of all team-based learning: integrated projects, iterated teams, and even team-taught cases.
Effective executive learning means not waiting for the payoff. That’s why the BU EMBA consistently connects your education with your work: what you do, how you lead, where you advance. Every weekend, every module, every day of the international trip, you find yourself energized to drive change in your organization – and your career.
An Intensive, 18-Month Accelerated Program
The general management curriculum components include four highly integrated modules, four topical residence weeks, and an international field seminar delivered over 18 months. • Five modules, occurring on-campus on selected Fridays and Saturdays spread across 18 months
  • Case discussions taught by multiple faculty in each module
  • An interdisciplinary, team-based assignment in each module
  • Four week-long residential sessions along with one international session
