UT Moves Weekend MBA To Uptown Dallas

The Centrum in Dallas will be the new home for UT McComb’s weekend MBA program

The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business announced today (March 15) that it will move the Weekend MBA at Dallas/Fort Worth program from UT Southwestern to The Centrum in Uptown Dallas fall 2019.

The program will occupy a 17,000 square-foot space on the highly visible first floor of the building, located at 3102 Oak Lawn. Design plans, including interactive classrooms, study and breakout rooms, a 16-seat board room, offices, and collaboration spaces will deliver an experience consistent with the Texas McCombs brand.

“UT Southwestern has offered our program a great home since 2010. However, we are excited to relocate into a space that will enhance our competitive position in this important business market and facilitate a more consistent Texas McCombs experience for our DFW-based students,” said Dean Jay Hartzell in a statement.

A CHANCE TO FOSTER STRONG RELATIONSHIP WITH DALLAS-FORT WORTH ALUMS

Completely renovated in 2017, The Centrum development includes five on-site restaurants, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, a rooftop deck, a tenant lounge, a ground level community courtyard, and underground parking.

“This move will give us a chance to further foster the strong relationships we have with our DFW-based alumni and the business community,” said Joe Stephens, assistant Dean of the MBA program in a news release announcing the move. “We’re looking forward to increasing our outreach and recruitment efforts by leveraging this excellent space with the employer network and the power of more than 30,000 alumni in the Metroplex.”

“In addition to the alumni outreach and MBA classes, an invitation to utilize the Centrum space is open to other UT programs, departments and colleges wanting to further educational and experiential learning opportunities,” says Hartzell.

The university said that The Centrum’s location provides easy access from multiple freeways, increasing accessibility for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and guests. Uptown Dallas will give students more opportunity for direct communication and interaction with the business community.
