Who was your favorite MBA professor? Professor Arthur J. Swersey. Professor Swersey is a devoted teacher who is insightful, wise, humorous and full of humanity.

Why did you choose this executive MBA program? The quality of the faculty, the program, and the student cohort as well as the emphasis on team work and social responsibility.

What did you enjoy most about business school in general? The learning, the challenge and the sense of empowerment, as if I was given the keys to the kingdom – the kingdom of knowledge, power, influence and humanity.

Give us a story during your time as an executive MBA on how you were able to juggle work, family and education? I did not have to “separate” my family, work and school as they were all important part of my life and my employer was fully supportive of my education. Therefore, I had the flexibility to organize my work, school work and family activities at will. For example, I would pick up my 17-year-old son after school and bring him to work with me during business hours, and we would do our homework together every night in my office.

What was your biggest regret in business school? I have given all I could to be the best student that I could be. So, I have no regrets.

Which MBA classmate do you most admire? Mr. Seydina Fall. Seydina is a successful business leader, investor and entrepreneur who remains true to his core values and principles.

“I knew I wanted to go to business school when…I realized a business education wields power, the power to achieve my career objectives, attend my life goals, and make the world a better place.”

If I hadn’t gone to business school, I would be…enabling the discovery of scientific knowledge and development of innovative solutions that will lead to the improvement of human condition.”

What is your favorite company and what are they doing that makes them so special? Apple. Its commitment to create products of excellence, simplicity and enduring beauty.

What is your ultimate long-term professional goal? To improve the human condition.

Who would you most want to thank for your success? My mother. As a destitute and fatherless child growing up in Taiwan, it was a miracle that I went to college, came to the US and enrolled in the Yale EMBA program. My mother was the creator of that miracle.

In one sentence, how would you like your peers to remember you? The person who makes things happen, the glue that holds everything together and a good human being.

Getting such a candidate who is also delightful and passionate about her work and her contributions to society is a bonus. Yu-Hui is such a candidate.
