Of course, the videos are only one small part of the program. What they fail to show is the interaction among the students in discussion boards as well as during the in-person visits. Nonetheless, they give would-be students a good feel for what to expect in an online program with some of the best funding and resources available. It also helps that some of the topics aren’t nearly as easy to stomach as the simple explanation of when to refinance. For example, Professor Mark Lang’s explanation of cash flows and shareholder’s equity in his financial accounting class (see below). The clip has a small frame of Lang explaining on the concepts on the right of the screen while the balance sheet for the example is on the left.
Or there is the asynchronous video from Professor Wendell Gilland’s course in operations on sustainable operations. Instead of a classroom or a faculty office, the segment was filmed at Kenan Memorial Stadium where UNC’s football team plays (see below).
